21. Bojan Bogdanovic - Unrestricted - Indiana Pacers
At age 29, Bogdanovic is enjoying a career year in Indiana. He’s currently averaging career-highs points (17.9), rebounds (4.1), assists (1.9) and 3-pointers (2.0). He has taken his game to another level since Victor Oladipo was lost for the season. Dating back to the start of February (23 games), Bogdanovic is averaging 22.0 points while converting 52.3% of his field goal attempts. He is on pace to join Reggie Miller as just the second player in Pacers franchise history to knock down two-plus 3-pointers per game while posting a True Shooting percentage north of 61.5% or higher over the course of a full season. Considering how much value team’s place on efficient and effective long-range sniping in today’s NBA, Bogdanovic will have plenty of suitors lined up to bid for his services this summer.
22. Goran Dragic - Player Option - Miami Heat
Dragic will have an interesting decision to make this offseason. He turns 33 in May and has a player option worth $19.2 million for the 2019-20 season. Dragic has had a disappointing 2018-19 campaign thus far. He’s battled numerous injuries, which has limited him to just 27 games (14 starts) and he’s averaging fewer than 15 points and five assists per game for the first time since 2010-11.
23. JJ Redick - Unrestricted - Philadelphia 76ers
The Clippers let Redick walk in free agency following the 2016-17 season, when it was widely assumed that after four years at Duke and ten years in the league, he was on the back end of his career. However, Redick inked a one-year deal with the Sixers and scored over 17 points per game for the first time. Still, skepticism remained last summer, and Redick again settled for a one-year pact with Philadelphia. Well, Redick is averaging a career-high 17.6 points and 3.0 made trifectas per contest in 2019. He turns 35 in June but is still performing at an undeniably high level.
24. Jonas Valanciunas - Player Option - Toronto Raptors
Valanciunas’ per-minute production in Toronto had always been impressive. However, since being traded to the Grizzlies, he’s been unleashed in Memphis. JV had scored 20-plus points just four times in the 30 games he played for Toronto this season. Yet, Valanciunas has scored 20+ points in each of the Grizzlies last four games, and in nine of the 15 games he’s played for Memphis overall. During this 15-game stretch, he is averaging 19.4 points (on 56.3% shooting), 9.9 rebs, 2.1 assists, 1.5 blocks in 27.2 minutes.
25. Terry Rozier - Restricted - Boston Celtics
Had Rozier hit the free agent market last summer, he would have cashed in with a major payday. With both Kyrie Irving and Marcus Smart sideline by injuries late in the 2017-18 season, Rozier stepped in and stepped up for the Celtics. He started 16 games for Boston during the regular season and averaged 15.6 points, 6.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists in those contests. Then, in the playoffs, he averaged 16.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 2.7 treys, as the Celtics advanced all the way to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. However, Rozier has taken a significant step back this season. He is shooting below 39% from the floor and turning the ball over on nearly nine percent of his possessions. Unsure of his role with a healthy Kyrie Irving running the show, “Scary Terry” has morphed into Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. It will be fascinating to find out how GM’s, including Danny Ainge in Boston, project Rozier’s value going forward.
Getty26. Thaddeus Young - Unrestricted - Indiana Pacers
Young tends to draw very little attention from the national media, but scouts and executives in the league are most certainly well aware of his value. Not only is Young durable (he’s played in at least 74 games in each of the last eight seasons), he also finds ways to contribute across the board. Per NBA.com, he is now one of eight active players (LeBron James, Dirk Nowitzki, Vince Carter, Carmelo Anthony, Andre Iguodala, Russell Westbrook, Paul Millsap) with over 11,000 points, 5,000 rebounds, 1,000 assists and 1,000 steals in his NBA career. Of those eight players, Young is the only one who has recorded more assists and steals than turnovers in his career. And, despite the fact that he’ll turn 31 in June, Young’s production hasn’t dipped. In fact, this season he is posting the best VORP (2.6) and Box Plus/Minus (2.9) of his career.
27. Danny Green - Unrestricted - Toronto Raptors:
Kawhi Leonard was obviously the headliner in the Raptors blockbuster deal this offseason, but Danny Green has also been an important contributor for Toronto in 2018-19. He’s been effective on both ends of the floor, and particularly efficient offensively. Green is shooting a career-high 44.6% from 3-point range (which ranks fourth in the league) and posting a True Shooting Percentage of 62.1%. Furthermore, he ranks second in the NBA this season in Net Rating (+11.9), behind only Giannis Antetokounmpo.
28. Ricky Rubio - Unrestricted - Utah Jazz
It seems as though Rubio has been around forever because he has eight years of NBA experience under his belt; however, he’s still just 27 years old and in the heart of his prime. Nonetheless, after a stellar season in 2017-18, Rubio has taken a step back this year. He’s shooting below 40% from the floor and his PER of 13.7 is the lowest of his career. He’s also seen a bit of a regression on the defensive end, as his steal rate has dipped south of 2.5% for the first time his career. Teams will be interested in a proven, reliable point guard, but he won’t see the major money he and his agents might have been anticipating.
29. Bobby Portis - Restricted - Washington Wizards
The Wizards received Portis in the Otto Porter Jr. trade at the deadline, and Portis has played well since arriving in Washington. Over his first 20 games with the Wiz, Portis is averaging 14.8 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.8 made 3-pointers, while shooting 43.9% from downtown. Having just turned 24 last month, the young and promising Portis will have plenty of interested in parties in free agency, but Washington can match an offer due to his restricted status.
30. Jeff Teague - Player Option - Minnesota Timberwolves
Teague is another point guard who failed to live up to expectations in a potential walk year. He was sidelined by a myriad of injuries and ended up playing in just 42 games, a career-low. He also averaged fewer than 13 points per game for the first time since 2011 and shot below 43% from the floor for the first time since his rookie season. Remarkably, this will be the first time in his ten-year career his team has failed to qualify for the postseason. Teague has a $19 million option for the 2019-20 season and may choose to return to Minnesota for one more year in hopes of rebuilding his value on the open market.
