If you are the creator of a YouTube video or if you have the legal right to view it off-site, you can download it using a third party 'download and convert' program, run it through iTunes and then sync it to your iPod as you would normally do.
Step 1
Copy and paste the URL of a YouTube video into a Web-based 'download and convert' application such as 'KeepVid,' 'SaveVid,' 'Gazzump,' 'YouTube Downloader' or 'SaveTube' (see Resources).
Step 2
Click 'Download' or 'Convert' and select 'MP4' as the format for saving the YouTube video.
Step 3
Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for each YouTube video that you wish to put on your iPod Classic.
Step 4
Step 5
Click 'File.' On a Windows PC, select 'Add File to Library'; on a Mac, click 'Add to Library.'
Step 6
Select the YouTube videos that you downloaded in Steps 2 and 3 and click 'Open.'
Step 7
Wait for iTunes to add the downloaded and converted YouTube videos to the iTunes library. The process could take a few seconds, several minutes or as long as several hours, depending on the length of the YouTube videos.

Description
A world of learning and fun, made just for kids
We created YouTube Kids to make it safer and simpler for kids to explore the world through online video – from their favorite shows and music to learning how to build a model volcano (or make slime ;-), and everything in between. There’s also a whole suite of parental controls, so you can tailor the experience to your family’s needs.
A safer online experience for kids
We use a mix of filters, user feedback and human reviewers to keep the videos in YouTube Kids family friendly. But no system is perfect and inappropriate videos can slip through, so we’re constantly working to improve our safeguards and offer more features to help parents create the right experience for their families.
Get the scoop on all the control features available to you:
KID PROFILES:
Create up to eight kid profiles, each with their own viewing preferences, video recommendations, and settings.
CHANNEL COLLECTIONS:
Select collections of channels on a variety of subjects by trusted partners and YouTube Kids.
PARENT APPROVED CONTENT:
Make sure you’re in control of what your kids watch and handpick the videos, channels, and collections of channels they can see.
OLDER EXPERIENCE:
As your little ones grow and develop you have the option to open up new content appropriate for 8-12 year olds. Simply enable this option when creating a new profile or update an already existing one. This setting allows kids to watch popular music and gaming videos from creators like Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Rosanna Pansino, Roman Atwood, Dan TDM, GloZell, Kurt Hugo Schneider, Dude Perfect, Brooklyn & Bailey, Minecraft, and many more.
We work hard to make videos in the app family friendly, but no system is perfect. It’s always possible that you may find something you don’t want your child to watch. These videos may contain some explicit language and imagery, violence and suggestive content.
YOUNGER EXPERIENCE:
The “Younger” version includes videos from Thomas the Tank Engine, Dreamworks TV, Talking Tom, The Little Bus Tayo, Angry Birds, Monster High, DC Kids, and many more. With a wide selection of sing-alongs and age appropriate learning videos, this experience is perfect for preschool to school aged little ones.

BLOCKING:
Find a video or channel you don’t want your kid to watch? Block it to automatically remove it from all of your kids’ profiles.
VIDEO REPORTING:
Alert us immediately by reporting videos that shouldn’t be in the app. The video will be sent to us for fast review.
SEARCH CONTROL:
Turn search on so kids can access more videos. Turn search off for a more contained experience by limiting the experience to channels that have been verified by YouTube Kids.
TIMER:
Set up a timer to put limits on how long your kids can play with the app.
WATCH HISTORY:
Keep tabs on what your kids are watching in the app.
WATCH ON TV:
Gather your family and enjoy YouTube Kids on select TVs

Why can’t their be a section for older kids? I like it but some of the videos are way to young for me. I feel like you should make a section for even older kids because it’s not very fun if the only thing you can watch is like mother goose. I would highly recommend this for younger kids. Other than the age thing, I like and enjoy using the app and I think my sister would like it too. So please add in more videos for older kids. Maybe you have to do the number passcode thing where you look at the number written down(in writing form)and have to copy it using normal numbers, then you can access a wide range of videos, meant for middle and elementary kids, without worrying about anything to inappropriate. Thank you for you time. I would love if you could add the feature into your app. Thank you for your biscuits.
xoxo, Meg
Developer Response,
Hi Meg, thank you for your review and suggestions; your feedback means a lot to us!
We specifically built YouTube Kids for 2-12 year olds, and do our best to create age-appropriate experiences for all kids. Earlier this year we launched a new experience geared toward 8-12 year olds that includes additional new content, like popular music and gaming videos. If your parents think you’re ready, they can pick this 'older' version when setting up a new profile or when updating an existing profile in account settings. As for now, the 'younger' version is the default content experience and will continue to have a wide selection of sing-alongs and age-appropriate learning videos. Ask a parent or guardian about updating your settings to enjoy the older experience.
Don’t expose your children to this!
This is hands down the worst app ever for children/ toddlers. There is NO WAY that this app is monitored at all, like it claims to be when you setup a profile. There are so many examples I can personally give. A 20th Century Fox theme song that CLEARLY depicts a swastica. Then there is the video where Spider-Man shoots I believe Deadpool with what looks like a very real pistol (Glock 19 to be exact). Or, the finger family video where all of the I believe Spider-Man characters (again) are lined up, and are shooting each other in the head blood, death whole 9. And then you have channels like “Candyland”. A (what sounds to be an adult male) displaying gross amounts of candy on a table then exclaiming “So yummy in my tummy”. This is gross to me on so many levels. Then you have the subliminal messages in these kids videos, if you use the bar and scroll through some of the videos, you will catch an extremely brief image of something extremely creepy/ inappropriate. I do monitor what my children watch but it seems like after a week or so or after the app/device update all of the blocked videos magically appear. I uninstalled this app, it is toxic for children, I strongly suggest everyone steer clear. I have contacted you tube kids upward of 20 times but to no avail. Will be taking further action if something doesn’t change (for the poor kid who is being brainwashed).
Developer Response,
Thank you for your review, your feedback means a lot to us. Safety is a top priority and we work hard to surface content in our app that is appropriate.
We are committed to building YouTube Kids in a way that offers kids the content they want to watch, while also giving grown-ups the tools to customize the app as they see fit. As no two families are the same, neither are their needs.
For complete control over what your kids are watching, select “Approved Content Only” under each kids' setting. With this mode, your kids will only be able to watch videos, channels or collections that you’ve selected and approved, and they will not be able to search for videos.
We work hard to exclude content that’s not suitable for kids, but we can’t manually review all videos and no automated system is perfect. If you find something inappropriate, you can block the video or the entire channel, or report it for fast review by our teams. By working together we can make YouTube Kids a better experience for everyone.
Good, But Needs Better Monitoring
On the outside, the seems like a fine app for the preschooler/elementary crowd. And most of the time, it is. There are many educational and do-it-yourself videos that children can access. My younger brother lives watching his “Up on the Housetop” (a Christmas song) video. However, also at children’s fingertips are a few less age-appropriate videos. These might satisfy the teenager or tween of protective parents, but they aren’t the best for the target age.
Specifically, I recently found a clip of the “Bustopher Jones” scene from the musical Cats (you know, the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical that stars people in tight costumes slinking around the stage pretending to be cats). Okay for the (jr) high school crowd, but not quite what most parents want their five-year-olds to watch.
Parents: you might want to preview videos you think your children would view.
Developers: please try to monitor this better! I’m not saying to study every video that comes in, just the ones that look a little off-key. Thanks!
