Step #1. Launch Settings app on your iPhone → Tap on iTunes & Stores.
Step #2. Tap on Apple ID. You may be prompted to type in your Apple ID password here. Then an Apple ID menu will appear with four options: View Apple ID, Sign Out, iForgot and Cancel.
Step #3. Tap on View My Apple ID.
Step #4. Tap on Payment Information.
Step #5. Tap on None under the section of PAYMENT TYPE.
That’s it! Going forward, the verification required popup won’t appear on your iOS device.

How to Change Apple App Store Change Payment Information in iTunes
Step #1. Launch iTunes on your computer → Click on Account in the Top navigation menu → Click on your View My Account.
Step #2. You will be prompted to type in your Apple ID password.
You will be landed on Account Information page of iTunes.
Step #3. Click on Edit button appeared next to Payment Information option.
You will be landed on Edit Payment Information page. You can see four options under payment method: Visa, Master Card, Amex and None.
Step #4. Click on None.
Step #5. Finally, click on Done from the right bottom corner.

I just downloaded the newest iOS version, which I don't know what it is, and I can't download free apps now. I used to be able to download free apps, but now apple requires a credit card to download apps even if the apps are free.
I don't know what version of iOS I am using, nor what type I was using earlier. Nor do I know what type of iPhone I am using other than that it is an iPhone of some sort. I don't know how to find out this information either.
